Assertion Failed error message

 

note: If you only see an error message when starting iCu2 that states Abnormal Program Termination, Click Here information and a fix

If you are seeing assertion failed then abnormal program termination error messages after updating to iCu2 7. Please read the information below

 


 

 

To resolve this issue, please download the registry file from:

http://download.iCu2.ws/assertionfailedfix.reg

Choose "save as" and then "open" the file once it has downloaded.
You will be asked "do you want to add the information in  xxxxxxxxx to the registry".  Choose "Yes"

After applying the registry patch. Download and install iCu2 7 from:  http://download.iCu2.ws/iCu2setup.exe

During the installation procedure, you should see a window similar to this:

If you are an existing iCu2 user:
Verify the "destination folder" is going to install to your old iCu2 folder (so that you do not lose your pal list etc).

In most cases you will have to click on "browse" and change the Destination Folder from c:\program files\iCu2   to c:\program files\iCu2

If you are a new iCu2 user (ie you do not have any pal list/saved messages to recover), leave the Destination Folder as c:\program files\iCu2

Once you are satisfied that you are installing iCu2 to the correct location, click on Next and the installation will complete.

 


Note:

 

After performing this fix, If you receive a message saying that your registration code is invalid when starting iCu2. Please turn off iCu2 and wait approximately 30 minutes without using iCu2 (Do not attempt to uninstall or delete any iCu2 files during this time frame). Then after the 30 minutes have passed. Start iCu2 again and your registration code will be accepted.
