Motorola Routers and ICUII

The information below will assist you in setting one or more computer with iCu2 on a Motorola Router (this is for the Motorola WR850G Router, but should work on all Motorola Routers)..

The User Guide for the Motorola can be found at:
Scroll down the "bookmarks" until you reach the "Virtual Server" bookmark for further information / screenshots
If you have only 1 computer to setup, or if this is the first computer you are setting up for iCu2:
On iCu2:
1: Go into Tools - Options - Ports
2: Make sure you are set to "Network" connection
3: In Normal Ports and Network Ports make sure you have:
Primary Port: TCP 2000
Secondary Port: TCP 2001
4: Just below that, take note of the IP address it states (it should be something like 192.168.10.xxx)
5:Click on OK and close iCu2
On the Motorola WR850G:
1: Log into the admin area (on internet explorer type in 192.168.10.1 and hit enter or "go")
2: Type in your username/password for the Motorola (if you haven't set a user/pass - it should be user: admin password: motorola )
3: You then need to locate the Virtual Server Area in the admin pages.
4: Make an entry that looks similar to this:
Virtual Server Name: iCu2pc1a
enabled: ticked / checked
incoming protocol: TCP
incoming port: 2000
forwarding IP: [IP you took note of for this for first computer]
forwarding port: 2000
Shedule: Everyday / 24 hours
Click on Add and a new entry should be made in the table to show the addition you made
5: Make another entry, this time with the information below:
Virtual Server Name: iCu2pc1b
enabled: ticked / checked
incoming protocol: TCP
incoming port: 2001
forwarding IP: [IP you took note of for this for first computer]
forwarding port: 2001
Shedule: Everyday / 24 hours
Click on Add and a new entry should be made in the table to show the addition you made
You should now have two entries (plus any you already had) in the table, that looks like this:
Name: Enable: Proto/Ports IP/Ports
iCu2pc1a enabled TCP/2000 [PC1's IP]/2000
iCu2pc1b enabled TCP/2001 [PC1's IP]/2001
5: Click on Apply
6: Try iCu2

If you want to add a second computer / iCu2 to your home network, make sure you have setup the first computer as detailed above, then do this to add the second computer:
On the second computer's iCu2:
1: Go into Tools - Options - Ports
2: Make sure you are set to "Network" connection
3: In Normal Ports and Network Ports make sure you have:
Primary Port: TCP 2002
Secondary Port: TCP 2003
4: Just below that, take note of the IP address it states (it should be something like 192.168.10.xxx)
5:Click on OK and close iCu2
On the Motorola WR850G:
1: Log into the admin area (on internet explorer type in 192.168.10.1 and hit enter or "go")
2: Type in your username/password for the Motorola (if you haven't set a user/pass - it should be user: admin password: motorola )
3: You then need to locate the Virtual Server Area in the admin pages.
4: Make an entry that looks similar to this:
Virtual Server Name: iCu2pc2a
enabled: ticked / checked
incoming protocol: TCP
incoming port: 2002
forwarding IP: [IP you took note of for this for secondcomputer]
forwarding port: 2002
Shedule: Everyday / 24 hours
Click on Add and a new entry should be made in the table to show the addition you made
5: Make another entry, this time with the information below:
Virtual Server Name: iCu2pc2b
enabled: ticked / checked
incoming protocol: TCP
incoming port: 2003
forwarding IP: [IP you took note of for this for second computer]
forwarding port: 2003
Shedule: Everyday / 24 hours
Click on Add and a new entry should be made in the table to show the addition you made
You should now have four entries (plus any you already had) in the table, that looks like this:
Name: Enable: Proto/Ports IP/Ports
iCu2pc1a enabled TCP/2000 [PC1's IP]/2000
iCu2pc1b enabled TCP/2001 [PC1's IP]/2001
iCu2pc2a enabled TCP/2002 [PC2's IP]/2002
iCu2pc2b enabled TCP/2003 [PC2's IP]/2003
5: Click on Apply
6: Try iCu2

If you want to add more computers / iCu2s to your home network, it is simply a case of following the steps again for the second computer and changing the settings so that each computer/iCu2 has it's own unique values. Ie, computer 3 would have:
Primary Port: 2004
Secondary Port: 2005
being forwarded to the local IP address of that

IMPORTANT

The information on this website is for iCu2 8.1 and higher only, If you are using 8.0.6 or lower, either update to the newest version, or use www.icuii.co.uk's help files
