Modem area

This area lets you setup your modem speed to get the best performance out of iCu2.

If you are using a dialup connection, select regular modem from the list

If you are using an ISDN connection, select DSL or ISDN from the list

If you are using DSL you can select either the DSL or ISDN or the Cable selector. Most DSL modems are fast enough to handle the Cable settings.

If you are using a Cable Modem (or faster connection) select Cable Modem from the list

Alternatively, you can select Custom Speeds depending on whether you have an ultra fast connection or if you want to throttle the amount of bandwidth iCu2 uses for calls / connects.

Run Automatic Bandwidth Estimation Test will do a quick test of your modem speeds and automatically use speeds in the Custom area that best suit your current connection.

Run Network Diagnostics: This button is not required unless you are asked for the information from it by a member of the iCu2 Support Team.

Remember, that although you may have a fast connection, it does not necessarily mean that you will have a smooth video chat, as the other person may have a slower connection.

IMPORTANT

The information on this website is for iCu2 8.1 and higher only, If you are using 8.0.6 or lower, either update to the newest version, or use www.icuii.co.uk's help files
