How do I set up my webcam (camera) on ICUII

iCu2 has two options for rendering your video feed. They are:

  • Video For Windows (VFW)
  • Direct X

By default iCu2 will use Direct X to render your video feed, Mainly because Direct X is better at auto-detecting your camera and it's settings. When using Direct X mode, you will get two options in Settings - Options - Video & Audio for the size of your camera (large or small).

All of your available cameras will be listed underneath "Send Video from this device". You can select any cam and cam size that is shown.

The "Picture Size and Data Capture Format button" will not work in DirectX mode, as those settings are already decided for you.

The "Cam Adjustments" button will allow you to change color settings for your camera (saturation, brightness, etc).

In VFW mode, you have more control over your camera's settings as you will be able to manually select the video's size and also the video format it will use (in the Picture Size And Data Capture Format button). However, less cameras will work in VFW mode.

To switch between "VFW mode" and "DirectX mode", follow these steps:

1: Select "Do Not Send Video"

2: Click on "Change to XXX mode" (XXX will either be VFW or DirectX depending on which mode you are currently in)

3: Select "Send Video From This Device"

4: Select your camera.

If you are in VFW mode, you may have to select "Microsoft WDM Image Capture" as your camera, then click on "Cam Adjustments". From there, select the "Capture Source" tab and finally select your camera from the pull down menu.
